Son Of Milan Impresses On Rules Debut

Bill Baxter (5g Milan - Blossom Rose, by Roselier) shaped like an exciting prospect when running out an impressive winner of his rules debut at Fakenham on Monday.

Beaten just a length in a four-year-old maiden at Moira for Denis Murphy, the son of Milan made his first start for Warren Greatrex and Glassex Holdings Ltd in the two mile bumper. Caoilin Quinn rode the grey behind the leaders and made good headway to dispute from halfway, asserting with six furlongs left to race. Clear two furlongs from home, he ran on well to win unchallenged, recording a winning margin of 13 lengths.

Bred by Mary Fanning McCormack, Bill Baxter becomes the third winner out of Blossom Rose, herself a half-sister to black-type performer Cresswell Native.
