Son Of Milan Lands Valuable Punchestown Prize On Debut
Absolute Notions (4g Milan - Colleen Donnoige, by Beneficial) emerged as a talented prospect when making a taking debut in the valuable Goffs Land Rover Bumper at the Punchestown Festival.
Ridden towards the back of the field by Declan Lavery, Gordon Elliott’s charge made steady headway from four furlongs out and was ridden to lead approaching the final furlong. Soon clear, he ran on strongly to score by six and a half lengths. Fellow newcomer Nucky Johnson (Vadamos) shaped with promise in third.
There is much more to come from Absolute Notions, with the winning trainer saying after the race, “We thought he was a nice horse but he's still a baby, and I didn't think he had enough done to win. He's a nice horse for the future.”
The exciting son of Milan is owned by Evergreen Stud’s Michael Conaghan, who purchase him as a foal from breeders Brian and Bronagh Lawler.
