Son Of Milan Proves Too Good For Rivals At Cork
Mr Josiey Wales (6g Milan - Balwaney, by Exit To Nowhere) proved a class above his rivals when drawing clear to win Monday’s three mile maiden hurdle at Cork.
Bred by Denis Robb and owned by Joseph Robb, the son of Milan won a four-year-old maiden at Castletown-Geoghegan which has produced some smart performers. Second on his hurdle debut last month, the Dermot McLoughlin-trained bay was sent off favourite under Danny Hand and tracked the leader for much of the way. Making good head headway from four out, he led at the second last and went clear at the final flight, keeping on to win by 12 lengths.
Speaking after the race, the winning rider said, “He's a nice horse going forward and his future is over fences.”
