Son Of Milan Races Clear On Chase Debut
The Chris Gordon-trained Top Man (6g Milan - Get In There, by Beneficial) impressed on his seasonal reappearance, when making a winning chase debut at Fontwell on Saturday.
Successful between the flags for Cormac Farrell, the son of Milan won a maiden hurdle by 14 lengths in December and was sent off favourite on return in the Novices’ Handicap Chase. Racing over two and a half miles, he chased the leaders under Tom Canon and produced a challenge after the third last. Leading a fence later, he kept on strongly to score by ten lengths.
Owned by the Broadsword Group, Top Man was bred by Christopher Doyle out of a winning sister to Grade 2 winner River Wylde (Oscar).
