Cavalry Master (Milan) Lands The Novice Chase At Killarney

Son Of Milan Records Back To Back Chase Wins

Cavalry Master (7g Milan - Magie De Toulouse, by Northern Crystal) followed up on last month’s win by making another successful step up in trip at Killarney on Sunday.

The Henry de Bromhead-trained grey appreciated the two mile and six furlong trip last time out and tackled an extra furlong in Sunday’s Novice Chase. Tracking the leader under Rachael Blackmore, he was pushed along to challenge at the second last and asserted approaching the final fence. Pushed out on the run-in, he won by four and a half lengths.

Speaking after the race, the winning rider said, “He stepped up again from the last day and is taking to chasing very well.”

Owned by Gigginstown House Stud, Cavalry Master has previous won a bumper and maiden hurdle. A €92,000 store purchase, the son of Milan was bred by James Cummins and Ms Jacqueline Taylor.
