Son Of Milan Records Back To Back Wins Over Fences
True Faith (6g Milan - Toledanam by Protektor) dug deep to justify favouritism in Saturday’s Rated Novice Chase at Gowran Park.
Henry de Bromhead’s charge was last seen winning a Beginners Chase at Tramore and stepped up to three miles and one furlong for the first time on Saturday. Tracking the leaders under Rachael Blackmore, the bay was pushed along to make headway from three out and ran on well on the run-in to win by a neck.
“It was a good performance, he had to really battle,” Blackmore said after the race. “I got hampered a bit, but he stuck his head down well to win so it was good. He seems to be taking to fences really well.”
Owned by Robcour, True Faith has placed on his only other starts over fences. The son of Milan was bred by AV Bloodstock and sold for €180,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale.
