Son Of Milan Scores On Chase Debut

Mymilan (6g Milan - Jill’s Girl, by Be My Native) made a winning start to his chase career when winning Sunday’s Novices’ Handicap Chase at Carlisle.

11 lined up for the two mile contest and Ryan Mania led the field from the first fence. Staying on strongly from the final fence, he held off Warendorf to win by a length and a quarter, with another seven lengths back to the third horse.

Mymilan was purchased by trainer Sandy Thomson from Colin McKeever, for whom he was placed in a point-to-point. The son of Milan was bred by Miss Jill Farrell and is closely related to two winners by Oscar.
