Son Of Milan Wins Bumper In Good Style
Exciting point-to-point recruit Better Days Ahead (4g Milan - Bonnie And Bright, by Topanoora) ran out an impressive winner of Sunday’s bumper at Fairyhouse.
The son of Milan was bought by Gordon Elliott and Bective Stud for £350,000 after his taking debut win for Warren Ewing at Lisronagh and finished a close second to Grade 2 performer Carnfunnock (Getaway) on last month’s rules debut. His more experienced rival boosted the form with a smart hurdle bow next time out.
Better Days Ahead was reunited with Jamie Codd at Fairyhouse and cruised into the lead approaching the final furlong. He needed little encouragement to win by three and a quarter lengths from strong finisher Chapeau De Soleil (Soldier Fortune), himself an impressive winner between the flags.
Speaking after the race, Gordon Elliott said, “He's a proper horse and is one to look forward to. He'll stay in bumpers this season.”
Now 10/1 for the Cheltenham Champion Bumper, the son of Milan was bred by TJ Nagle.
