Son Of Ocovango Provides Carberry With First Winner
Adventure Bay (5g Ocovango - Dr Doocey, by Dr Massini) provided Nina Carberry with her first winner as a trainer when landing the Five-Year-Old Geldings Maiden at Punchestown point-to-point on Saturday afternoon.
The improving bay led from the first fence under Tom Hamilton and was ridden from two out, as Conna Cottage delivered a strong challenge. Staying on well on the run-in, he won by four lengths going away, as the runner-up finished 14 lengths clear of the field.
Successful in his trainer’s silks, Adventure Bay was bred by Aaron Doocey and will now be sold. The son of Ocovango becomes the first winner out of Dr Doocey and hails from the family of Hide The Evidence.
