Son Of Ocovango Scores By Wide Margin
The Robert Clancy-trained Hitthekettle (6g Ocovango - Ballyquin Queen, by King’s Theatre) enjoyed a change of fortune on Sunday to get off the mark in a Tallow maiden.
Ridden in mid-division by Adam Feeney, the Tony Considine-owned bay improved into second from two out and led at the final fence. Keeping on well on the run-in, he won by all of 40 lengths.
Hitthekettle was bred by Jane, John and Kate Gleeson and becomes the first winner out of Ballyquin Queen. He hails from the promising first crop of Beeches Stud sire Ocovango, as do Grade 3 winner Langer Dan, Grade 3 performer Barnacullia and unbeaten hurdler Percy Warner.
