Son Of Soldier Of Fortune Goes One Better At Doncaster
The Nicky Richards-trained Luckie Seven (5g Soldier Of Fortune - Uimhir A Seacht, by Millenary) built on a promising debut to win Friday’s bumper at Doncaster.
The Soldier Of Fortune gelding showed signs of inexperience when chasing home Willmount on debut and had since enjoyed a boost of form with the winner extended his unbeaten record. Partnered by Danny McMenamin on Friday, he raced towards the back of the field and was shaken up after the four furlong marker. Improving into second three furlongs from home, he was switched right to lead and kept on well to win by a comfortable two lengths.
Owned by Mrs Sellars and Major Philip Arkwright, Luckie Seven becomes the first winner bred by Michael Long out of his homebred mare Uimhir A Seacht.
