Son Of Soldier Of Fortune Makes It Two From Two Over Hurdles
Serious Charges (5g Soldier Of Fortune - South West Nine, by Oscar) remained unbeaten over hurdles when leading home a 1-2-3 for Coolmore NH sires in Monday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Fontwell.
Runner-up in a point-to-point and a bumper, the bay made all on his hurdle debut last month and was sent off favourite as he stepped up to two miles and five furlongs. Making all once again on Monday, he was shaken up approaching the penultimate flight and was ridden out to deny One For The Wall (Yeats) by a length and a quarter.
Serious Charges was bought by Anthony Honeyball for £85,000 after a promising debut for Sean Doyle, and now runs in the colours of the Potwell Racing Syndicate. From Soldier Of Fortune’s first crop since moving to the Beeches Stud, he was bred by Mrs LA Nesbitt.
