Son Of Walk In The Park Delivers On Hurdle Bow
Inn At The Park (6g Walk In The Park – Glor Na Gaoithe, by Presenting) made a smart start to his hurdling career at Fairyhouse on Saturday.
Twice placed in bumpers last season, the Willie Mullins-trained bay stepped up to two miles and seven furlongs on his seasonal return in the maiden hurdle. Racing in touch under Danny Mullins, he produced a challenge before the second last and was shaken up to lead soon after. Quickening clear, he was ridden out to score by four and a half lengths, with another five and a half lengths back to the favourite in third.
“That was a good performance,” said the winning rider. “He’s always been a strong galloper at home and going hurdling at that distance was probably always going to suit him. He jumped good and sharp and is a lad that should be well able to make the next step up the ladder.”
The son of Walk In The Park is owned by Malcolm Denmark and was bred by Patrick O’Mahony.
