Son Of Walk In The Park Delivers On Rules Debut
Promising point-to-point recruit Giantsgrave (5g Walk In The Park – Poppy Baloo, by Oscar) made a smart rules debut in Saturday’s bumper at Ffos Las.
The Walk In The Park gelding joined Dan Skelton following his debut second at Dromahane last April, with the third horse Orderoftheday (Order Of St George) later boosting the form with a win. Skelton’s charge was sent off favourite on Saturday and was ridden in touch with the leaders by Harry Skelton. Making headway from four furlongs out, he was ridden approaching the final furlong and led from 110 yards out, keeping on to win by four and a half lengths.
The winning rider later commented: “Giantsgrave is a nice, big horse. One for the future, a big chaser.”
Giantsgrave was bred by Stephanie Hanly and is owned by the Noel Fehily Racing Syndicate.
