Son Of Walk In The Park In Command At Punchestown
Sa Fureur (6g Walk In The Park - Ma Furie, by Balleroy) built on a promising hurdle debut to take the second division of Sunday’s maiden hurdle at Punchestown.
Gordon Elliott’s charge finished a close second in a maiden hurdle at Limerick during the festive period and was well-supported to go one better at Punchestown. Racing prominently under Davy Russell, he was shaken up to lead from two out and began to draw clear approaching the final flight. Ridden out on the run-in, he won by four lengths and three quarters, in comfortable fashion.
Owned by Caldwell Construction, Sa Fureur finished third in a bumper on his sole start last season. The €70,000 store buy was bred by The Honourable Mrs VMA Tower and is a half-brother to Grade 2 performer Sandymount Rose (Walk In The Park).
