Son Of Walk In The Park Lands Grade 1 Hurdle
Sunday saw Ginto (6g Walk In The Park - Tina Rederie, by Cadoudal) extend his unbeaten record over hurdles in the feature Grade 1 Lawlor’s Of Naas Novice Hurdle.
An impressive Grade 2 winner last time out, Gordon Elliott’s charge was sent off favourite under Jack Kennedy, who rode the bay to make all. Pushed along when challenged after the third last, he stayed on well on the run-in to win by four and a quarter lengths.
“It was great,” Elliott said after the race. “He's a fine horse and we thought he was very good from day one. The better the race the better he'll be.”
Sunday’s success saw Ginto halve in price to 8-1 for the Ballymore Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham. He becomes a first top-flight winner for Bective Stud, who bought the son of Walk In The Park for €470,000 following his debut win between the flags.
