Son Of Walk In The Park Never Headed On Hurdle Debut

Park This One (5g Walk In The Park - Soraya Pearl, by Shirocco) successfully transferred his talents to hurdling on Friday, when making all in the Novices’ Hurdle at Southwell.

The son of Walk In The Park joined the Jamie Snowden yard after winning a point-to-point for Neil McLean and ended last season with a bumper win. Stepping up to two and a half miles on return, he was asked to quicken from two out by Sam Twiston-Davies and was ridden when challenged approaching the final flight. Keeping on well, he prevailed by half a length on the line, as Awaythelad (Getaway) completed a 1-2 for Grange Stud sires.

Park This One was bred by L&R Bloodstock out of Saraya Pearl, whose three-year-old by the late Champs Elysees sold for €55,000 in June.
