Son Of Walk In The Park Rallies For Third Hurdle Win

Asta La Pasta (6g Walk In The Park – Asian Maze, by Anshan) produced a game performance to defy a double penalty in Thursday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Wetherby.

Dan Skelton’s charge came into the race with two wins from four starts over hurdles, having placed on the other occasions, and was sent off favourite to add to his record on Thursday. Racing prominently under Harry Skelton, he disputed from the second last and began to rally clear with one rival. Ridden to lead at the final flight, he kept on well to win by a length and three quarters, with another 13 lengths back to the third.

Bred by Ms Helga Moore, Asta La Pasta had also impressed in a bumper last season.
