Son Of Westerner Cut For Arkle After Impressive Chase Debut
Talented novice hurdler Dysart Dynamo (6g Westerner - Dysart Dancer, by Accordion) could hardly have been more impressive on chase debut, as he ran out a wide margin winner of Tuesday’s Beginners Chase at the Leopardstown Christmas Festival.
The Willie Mullins-trained bay won his first four starts, beginning with a pair of bumpers and then twice a 19 length winner over hurdles, latterly at Grade 2 level. Sent off a short-priced favourite on his seasonal return, he was ridden to make all by Paul Townend and jumped well throughout. Never challenged, he led by 28 lengths on the line.
“If you were going to draw a chaser he's one you'd like to have,” the in-form Mullins commented after the race. “He seems to love the game, loves jumping. We'll go up in grade now.”
Owned and bred by Eleanor Manning, Dysart Dynamo has been shortened to 5/1 for the Arkle Chase. Tuesday’s win will make connections even more hopeful regarding Wednesday’s debut of their star’s half-brother Dysart Dasher (Flemensfirth) in the Limerick bumper.
