Son Of Westerner Draws Clear On Rules Debut

Richmond Lake (5g Westerner - Chic Milan, by Milan) could hardly have made a more impressive start under rules, as he drew 15 lengths clear in Wednesday’s maiden hurdle at Bangor.

Trained by Donald McCain for the late Trevor Hemmings, the son of Westerner was sent off second favourite under Brian Hughes. Making all the running, he was shaken up approaching the second last and kept on strongly as his rivals did their best to narrow the gap.

Richmond Lake is the first foal bred by JR Weston out of Chic Milan.
