Son Of Westerner Impresses On Rules Debut

Point-to-point winner Escapeandevade (6g Westerner - Sandrinechoix, by Daliapour) made an impressive rules debut in Sunday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Ayr.

A ten length winner at Wadebridge last month for Tom Malone, the son of Westerner was subsequently sold privately to James Ewart and dropped down in trip to two and a half miles at Ayr. Ridden to make all by Callum Bewley, the bay jumped well throughout and drew clear from three out. He was eased down close home to win by four and a quarter lengths.

Escapeandevade was bred by Ms Leah McCoy out of a half-sister to talented chaser Dix Villez.
