Son Of Westerner Maintains Excellent Record
Anything Will Do (4g Westerner - Aylesbury Park, by Old Vic) justified favoritism in Monday’s Rated Novice Hurdle at Wexford to gain his second win from three starts.
Successful on debut last month, he finished third last time out and remained over the extended two mile trip. JJ Slevin rode him to track the leader and asserted from three out, his mount staying on well under pressure to win by two lengths.
Speaking after the race, Slevin said, “He was good the first day at Listowel and I'd say he got stuck in the ground last time at Galway, it was a bit tacky. He travelled much better today, took a look going down to the second last and won easy at the line.”
Trained by Joseph O’Brien for the Annus Mirabilis Syndicate, Anything Will Do was bred by Miss Ann Twomey and is a half-brother to Graded performer Stand Up And Fight (Flemensfirth). A full-brother to Anything Will Do is catalogued to sell at next month’s November NH Sale at Tattersalls Ireland.
