Son Of Westerner Makes It Two From Two

Washington (5g Westerner - Present Leader, by Presenting) backed up his impressive debut performance when carrying a penalty to success in Wednesday’s bumper at Huntingdon.

A 19-length winner on debut in November, Olly Murphy’s charge was sent off second favourite under Lewis Stones and was held up behind the leaders for much of the two mile contest. Pushed along from three furlongs out, he improved into the lead approaching the final furlong and kept on strongly to win by four lengths and three quarters.

Owned by Tim Syder, the unbeaten son of Westerner was bred by Jeremy Mactaggart.
