Son Of Yeats Adds Maiden Hurdle Win To Fine Record
The ultra-consistent Tupelo Mississippi (5g Yeats - Misleain, by Un Desperado) gained a deserved win over hurdles when justifying favoritism at Uttoxeter on Friday.
Placed on his sole start between the flags for Colin Bowe, the son of Yeats went on to win two bumpers for Brian Ellison and was placed on both his previous starts over hurdles. Dropping back to two and a half miles on Friday, he raced prominently under Brian Hughes and was shaken up approaching the penultimate flight, improving to lead before the last. Keeping on well, he scored by two and three quarter lengths from Welsh’s Castle (Mahler).
Owned by Phil and Julie Martin, Tupelo Mississippi was bred by Robin Ellerbeck.
