Son Of Yeats Blows Them Away On Hurdle Debut

Firestream (5g Yeats - Swincombe Flame, by Exit To Nowhere) made an exciting start to his hurdle career when running out a wide margin winner of Friday’s maiden hurdle at Chepstow.

A smart bumper winner last season, the Anthony Honeyball-trained bay was sent off favourite for the two and a half mile contest and was ridden to make all by Aidan Coleman. Picking up the pace from three out, he was pushed along at the penultimate flight and quickened clear approaching the last. Eased down close home, he finished 21 lengths clear of his rivals.

Owned by Buckingham, Chapman, Langford and Ritzema, Firestream continues a fine week for breeders MC and Mrs Yeo, with his full-sister Swincombe Fleat (Yeats) having made a smart chasing debut two days prior. The pair are siblings of Grade 2 winner Master Debonair (Yeats).
