Son Of Yeats Captures Grade 1 Savills Chase

Conflated (8g Yeats - Saucy Present, by Presenting) recorded his second top-flight success with a commanding win in the Grade 1 Savills Chase at Leopardstown.

Grade 1 placed over hurdles, Gordon Elliott’s charge reached new heights in February when taking the Grade 1 Irish Gold Cup over course and distance, and ended last season with a close second in the Grade 1 Betway Bowl at Aintree. A pleasing third on reappearance last month, the bay was sent off favourite under Jack Kennedy and raced prominently throughout. Asserting three from home, he was shaken up to go clear from the final fence and was pushed out on the run-in to score by five lengths.

“I'm delighted with him,” the winning rider later commented. “He's a brilliant jumper, even when short he is able to get up.”

Looking to the future, Gordon Elliott said, “I’d imagine he’ll come back here for the Irish Gold Cup but we’ll have to talk to Michael and Eddie and make a plan. There was a lot of talk last season about which race he would go for in Cheltenham but he’ll definitely be going for the Gold Cup this year.”

Owned by Gigginstown House Stud, Conflated has more than repaid his store sale price of €92,000, when sold by Glenvale Stud. The son of Yeats was bred by the Dillon Family and is a brother to another top-class chaser in Ordinary World (Milan).
