Son Of Yeats Defies Penalty In Novice Hurdle
Wednesday saw the Emma Lavelle-trained Young Butler (6g Yeats - Name For Fame, by Quest For Fame) gain his second career victory in the Novices’ Hurdle at Plumpton.
Carrying a penalty for his maiden hurdle win, the Tim Syder-owned bay was sent off favourite for the two and a half mile contest and was ridden to chase the leaders by Tom Bellamy. Asked to quicken from three out, he made headway to lead close home and scored by a length on the line, with another six lengths back to his next rival.
Bred by Butlersgrove Stud, the son of Yeats may be seen to even better effect over fences, given that he is a half-brother to top chaser Put The Kettle On.
