Son Of Yeats Delivers At Second Time Of Asking
Dhowin (5g Yeats - On The Way Home, by Flemensfirth) showed the benefit of experience when winning his second start over hurdles at Hereford on Wednesday.
Trained by Jonjo O’Neill for Trevor Hemmings, he showed promise at the end of last season when claiming runners-up honours in a bumper at Wetherby. One of 15 to line up for the Novices’ Hurdle, he chased the leaders for much of the way and coasted into second approaching three out. Asserting before the final flight, he stayed on strongly to win by two and a half lengths.
The son of Yeats was bred by Rosemary Hutch and sold as a store for €42,000 to Highflyer Bloodstock. He is the first foal out of the mare, a full-sister to Grade 1 performer Rock On The Moor (Flemensfirth).
