Son Of Yeats Draws Clear In Beginners Chase

Chavez (7g Yeats - Rock The Baby, by Waveney) gained an easy first win over fences when running out a clear winner of Wednesday’s Beginners Chase at Fairyhouse.

The Malcolm Denmark-owned bay previously won a bumper and maiden hurdle for Paul Nicholls, before switching to the Willie Mullins yard this season. Sent off second favourite on Wednesday, he raced prominently throughout the two mile chase and asserted before three out. Clear by the next fence, he was pushed out to lead by 25 lengths on the line under Danny Mullins.

The son of Yeats was bred by Declan Phelan out of a half-sister to three Graded chasers.
