Son Of Yeats Draws Clear On Hurdle Debut
Glencassley (6g Yeats - Reseda, by Lavirco) made an impressive start over timber when racing clear to win Monday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Southwell.
The bumper winner was sent off favourite under Brian Hughes and chased the clear leader, before making headway from three out. Ridden at the second last, he soon led and kept on strongly on the run-in to win by nine and a half lengths, his rivals strung out behind him.
Trained by Charlie Longsden for Grant Leon, the son of Yeats was bred by Sean Murphy.
