Son Of Yeats Impresses On Chase Debut
The Jonjo O’Neill-trained His Dream (7g Yeats - Rosa Muscosa, by Dixie Union) appears to have found his calling over fences, having impressed on chase debut at Perth on Monday.
Successful in a bumper and on three occasions over hurdles, he faced six rivals in the three mile novices’ chase. Jonjo O’Neill Junior rode the bay to chase the leaders, improving into second at the fourth last and made further headway to lead approaching the second last. Ridden clear from the final fence, he scored by 13 lengths in comfortable fashion with the field strung out behind him.
Owned by Jackdaws Racing, His Dream was purchased after winning a Down Royal bumper as a four-year-old for Ellmarie Holden. The son of Castlehyde Stud sire Yeats was bred by Jim Bolger out of a half-sister to Graded performer Son Of The West.
