Son Of Yeats Makes It Four In A Row

The Paul Nicholls-trained Soldier Of Love (7g Yeats - Monsignorita, by Classic Cliché) recorded his fourth consecutive success on Saturday, when defying a penalty in the Novices’ Chase at Newton Abbott.

Racing prominently under Harry Cobden, the bay asserted at the fourth last fence and overcame being hampered at the next. Staying on strongly from the final fence, he was ridden out to beat the favourite Coole Cody by two and a quarter lengths, as they drew 12 lengths clear of the field.

Owned and bred by Malcolm Denmark, Soldier Of Love also won over hurdles as a six-year-old. The son of Castlehyde Stud sire Yeats is a half-brother to black-type chaser Mercy Mercy Me.
