Son Of Yeats Makes Perfect Start For New Connections
Sunday saw Lord Accord (5g Yeats - Cush Jewel, by Executive Perk) make a winning start for new connections in the bumper at Fontwell.
The son of Yeats was purchased privately after finishing third in a four-year-old maiden on his sole start for Andrew Slattery and was sent off second favourite on his debut for the Neil Mulholland stable. Brendan Powell rode the bay to track the leaders, switching left to challenge three furlongs from home and improved to lead approaching the two furlong marker. Keeping on well under pressure, he scored by four lengths on the line.
Owned by Lynne and Angus Maclennan, Lord Accord was bred by Olive Troy and is a half-brother to multiple Graded winner Monksland.
