Son Of Yeats Makes Smart Return To Action
Easy Fella (6g Yeats - G Day Sile, by Aussie Rules) made a smart start for the Henry de Bromhead stable in Sunday’s Rated Novice Hurdle at Thurles.
The son of Yeats showed consistency last season and impressed when winning a maiden hurdle by a wide margin at Punchestown. He was well-supported in the market ahead of his stable debut and raced in touch for much of the two mile and seven furlong contest. In front by the second last, he was ridden out by Rachael Blackmore to win by three and a quarter lengths, with the front pair drawing clear of their rivals.
“He stays well and is a really nice horse,” the winning trainer said. “He really galloped all the way to the line and anything over hurdles is a bonus as with the size and scope of him, he looks like a chaser all over.”
The progressive stayer was bred by Dermot Cunningham and is owned by the Four In One Syndicate.
