Son Of Yeats Not For Catching With Second Hurdle Success
Pileon (6g Yeats - Heath Heaven, by Alfora) thoroughly impressed when running home a 20 length winner of Thursday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Ffos Las.
The Philip Hobbs-trained gelding was sent off favourite despite carrying a penalty for his authoritative victory in a similar contest last time out. Tom O’Brien rode the bay to make all, quickening clear from two out and won unchallenged.
His two wins over hurdles add to a bumper success for owners Tim Syder and Martin St Quinton, who purchased him after finishing second in a point-to-point for Tom Keating. By Castlehyde Stud sire Yeats, Pileon was bred by Paul Hennessy out of a half-sister to black-type performer Naranja.
