Son Of Yeats Proves Stamina In Maiden Hurdle
The progressive Quaker Island (6g Yeats - Clonloo Lady, by Nearly A Nose) took another step forward on Tuesday to land the three mile maiden hurdle at Wexford.
Third on his last two starts, Peter Fahey’s charge relished the test of stamina last time out and Denis O’Regan waited until the penultimate flight to produce his challenge. Asserting before the last, he kept on well on the run-in to win by a length and a half.
Owned and bred by Gerry O’Dowd, Quaker Island is a half-brother to Grade 1 winning chaser Mariah Rollins.
