Son Of Yeats Rallies For Listed Chase Success
Saturday saw Aye Right (8g Yeats - Gaybric, by Presenting) gain a deserved black-type success in the Listed Rehearsal Handicap Chase at Newcastle.
A previous course and distance winner, the Harriet Graham-trained bay came into Saturday’s test with four black-type placings to his name and was ridden to chase the leader by Callum Bewley. Drawing clear with favourite Good Boy Bobby (Flemensfirth) from three out, he was pushed along from the second last and dug deep as the pair battled from the final fence. All out at the finish, he prevailed by a head on the line.
Speaking after the race, the winning rider said, “He jumped well and I can't knock him, he's done nothing wrong today.”
Aye Right is now an eight-time winner for owners Geoff and Elspeth Adam. The son of Castlehyde Stud sire Yeats was bred by Patrick Cashman out of a half-sister to Listed-winning chaser Nolans Pride.
