Son Of Yeats Rallies To Chase Success
Soldier Of Love (7g Yeats - Monsignorita, by Classic Cliché) dug deep to justify favouritism in Sunday’s Novices’ Handicap Chase at Bangor.
The Paul Nicholls-trained bay shouldered a six pound rise, despite having fallen when leading at the final fence last time out in March. Reunited with Harry Cobden on return, the bay tracked the leaders for much of the three mile contest and was shaken up three from home. Ridden from the second last, he produced a challenge at the final fence and kept on well to win by a neck, with the front pair racing 25 lengths clear of the field.
Owned and bred by Malcolm Denmar, Soldier of Love was adding to a win over hurdles last year. The son of Yeats is a half-brother to connections’ black-type hurdle Mercy Mercy Me.
