Son Of Yeats Records Impressive Hat Trick
Saturday saw Hang In There (8g Yeats - Jaldemosa, by Cadoudal) gain his third impressive victory in a row in the Novices’ Chase at Market Rasen.
Second to Wild Max on chase debut, Emma Lavelle’s charge went one better next time out and was last seen winning by all of 27 lengths. Stepping up in trip on Saturday, the son of Yeats made all under Tom Bellamy and was never challenged, going on to repeat the feat of winning by 27 lengths.
Owned by Tim Syder and Andrew Gemmell, Hang In There is also a four-time winner over hurdles, with his most notable win coming in the Grade 2 Supreme Novices’ Trial. The son of Yeats was bred by Daniel Furini, who raced the bay to finish second on hurdle debut for Margaret Mullins, before selling to current connections.
Earlier that afternoon at Market Rasen, the Olly Murphy-trained Sure Touch (6g Yeats - Liberthine, by Chamberlin) recorded back-to-back wins in the Novices’ Hurdle over two and a half miles.
Never out of the first four over hurdles, the consistent bay ran out an impressive nine length winner last month and defied a penalty by five lengths on Saturday. Bred by Upton Viva Stud, the son of Yeats made a winning debut in a bumper last year.
