Son Of Yeats Returns With A Win

The Jennie Candlish-trained Ulverston (5g Yeats - So Supreme, by Supreme Leader) made a winning return to action in Friday’s two and a half mile Novices’ Hurdle at Uttoxeter.

First past the post when last seen in March, the bay was reunited with Sean Quinlan on return and raced towards the back of the field for much of the way. Making headway from three out, he improved into second at the final flight and stayed on well under pressure to win by half a length.

Owned by Peter and Mrs GA Clarke, Ulverston was bred by Grange Stud and is a half-brother to Graded chaser Emcon.
