Son Of Yeats Takes Supreme Novices Trial
The Emma Lavelle-trained Hang In There (5g Yeats - Jaldemos, by Cadoudal) confirmed himself as a talented hurdler when capturing Sunday’s Grade 2 Supreme Trial Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham.
Adam Wedge made all aboard the bay and began to quicken five lengths clear turning for home. Ridden out approaching the line, he scored by three lengths, as the front pair finished clear of the third.
Speaking after the race, a delighted Emma Lavelle said, “Hang In There is an absolute terrier. I'd say he's a nice one. He's an exciting prospect.”
Purchased by Gerry Hogan on behalf of owners Tim Syder and Andrew Gemmell after finishing a close second on his hurdle debut for Mags Mullins in April, Hang In There ran out a seven length winner of his maiden hurdle last month. Bred by Daniel Furini, the son of Yeats is closely related to Cork National winner Logical Song.
