Talented Daughter Of Yeats Gains First Chase Success
Grade 1 performer Heaven Help Us (6m Yeats - Spare The Air, by Trans Island) built on a promising chase debut to win Saturday’s Mares Beginners Chase at Fairyhouse.
Second in the Grade 1 Future Champions Novice Hurdle last December, the Paul Hennessy-trained mare finished second on her first start over fences last month and dropped back to two miles on her latest start. She raced prominently throughout under David Mullins and was pushed clear from the second last, crossing the line five and a half lengths in front, eased down.
The delighted winning trainer later commented, “I'm over the moon, absolutely thrilled. It was a very good race as the two other mares in it were black-type mares as well. She's just amazing and I think she can improve again.”
Paul Hennessy also bred the daughter of Yeats, who runs in the colours of J Turner.
