Talented Daughter Of Yeats Impresses At Limerick
Sunday saw Graded performer Angels Dawn (7m Yeats - Angels Guard Thee, by Dylan Thomas) gain a deserved success in Sunday’s maiden hurdle at Limerick.
The Sam Curling-trained bay stepped up to three miles for the first time since finishing second against geldings in a Grade 3 and was once again held up behind the leaders by Phillip Enright. Making headway on the turn for home, she was pushed along to lead from the second last and soon went clear to score by 12 lengths with ease.
“Angels Dawn was due that,” the winning trainer said after the race. “She had great form and it all came together today. She has black type, loves that winter ground and I'll talk to Alfie (Sweetnam, owner/breeder) who is very keen to go chasing with her but I'll look for another mares' hurdle next.”
