Talented Daughters Of Yeats Light Up Goffs
A pair of top-class daughters of Yeats topped a strong renewal of the Goffs December NH Sale when selling for €260,000 and €190,000 apiece.
Top lot status went to Gigginstown House Stud’s dual Grade 1 winner Shattered Love (Yeats), who was knocked down to the recently formed MA Bloodstock. After signing the docket, Justin Owens revealed their new base at Mountarmstrong Stud in Donadea, explaining, “We're not long in the stud and we were looking for a really nice mare. Shattered Love had it all. She was a top-class racemare and is from a very nice family. She was sold with a good cover too, so we're looking forward to seeing what she produces now.”
Shattered Love was offered in foal to Grange Stud sire Walk In The Park, who was also responsible for the highest-priced foal of the day at €82,000.
A more familiar name later signed for Grade 1 performer Tintangle (Yeats), as she became the latest expensive purchase for Kieran Mariga’s Coolmara Stables. The Listed winner carried a cover to the exciting Crystal Ocean, whose first foals sold for up to €80,000 during the week.
