Talented Son Of Milan Gains First Hurdle Success

Grade 2 bumper winner McFabulous (6g Milan - Rossavon, by Beneficial) gained his first win over hurdles on Tuesday, when justifying favoritism in the Novices’ Hurdle at Market Rasen.

The Paul Nicholls-trained bay won three bumpers last season, including a Grade 2 contest at Aintree, and finishing second on his hurdle debut in November. Now stepping up to two and a half miles, he tracked the leader under Harry Cobden and produced a challenge at the second last. Pushed out, he scored by three lengths and three quarters, as the first two finished clear of the third horse.

The Giraffa Racing-owned winner was bred by Vincent Finn, who sold the son of Milan for €88,000 at the Derby Sale. He is a half-brother to Grade 1 Ascot Chase victor Waiting Patiently (Flemensfirth).
