Talented Son Of Yeats Makes Winning Start For New Stable

Burbank (9g Yeats - Spring Swoon, by Highest Honor) made a successful start for the James Moffatt stable when landing a “Jumpers’ Bumper” at Newcastle on Wednesday.

Making a significant drop down in trip to two miles, the bay tracked the leaders under Charlotte Jones and was travelling well when asserting over a furlong from home. Ridden inside the final furlong, he kept on well to deny Romeo Brown (Yeats) by three parts of a length.

Wednesday marked an encouraging return to form for Burbank, who had been absent since March, though he had previously won on the level, over hurdles and over fences, as well as placing at Grade 3 level. Now owned by Varlien Vyner-Brooks with Dave and Yvonne Simpson, the son of Yeats was bred by the Derrymore House Syndicate.
