Top Man Continues Fine Run For Milan
Top Man (5g Milan - Get In There, by Beneficial) continued a fine run for Grange Stud sire Milan when justifying favoritism in Monday’s maiden hurdle at Plumpton.
Racing on heavy ground for the first time, the Chris Gordon-trained bay was ridden prominently by Tom Cannon and was shaken up to lead approaching the second last. Soon clear, he extended his advantage to 14 lengths on the line with ease.
Top Man was gaining his first win for owners the Broadswood Group, while he also won a point-to-point for Cormac Farrell in April. He was bred by Christopher Doyle out of a winning half-sister to Grade 2 winner River Wylde (Oscar).
