US G3 win for Soldier Of Fortune

Lady Paname (4f Soldier of Fortune-Business Class, by Aussie Rules) made it two wins from two starts in America when saddled by Chad Brown to G3 glory in New York on Saturday.

The Soldier Of Fortune filly was waited with in the G3 Long Island Stakes at Aqueduct before making her move in the stretch to score under Irad Ortiz.

“Distance isn't an issue with her, it just took her a little time to get here and the patience by everyone involved was really rewarded today,” said Brown. “I'm really proud of the horse. I thought Irad would fit her nicely and he really has.

“He's used good judgement every time he's ridden her and today was another example. Using good judgment, being patient with her in the lane. Waiting for it to open up and when it did, she kicked away.”

Group-placed when trained by her co-breeder Elie Lellouche in France, Lady Paname was bought by Hubert Guy for €400,000 at the 2017 Arqana December Sale.
