Choice Of Words (Yeats) winning the Mares Beginners Chase at Kilbeggan

Useful Daughter Of Yeats Off The Mark Over Fences

Friday saw Choice Of Words (8m Yeats – Douryna, by Generous) justify favouritism in the Mares Beginners Chase at Kilbeggan, to complete a treble on the card for Castlehyde Stud sire Yeats.

The Martin Brassil-trained mare finished a close second over course and distance last time out and was reunited to the in-form JJ Slevin on Friday. Chasing the leader for much of the way, she was pushed along to lead after the second last and was ridden out on the run-in to deny Jungle Prose (Yeats) by a length and a half.

Choice Of Words adds to impressive wins in a maiden hurdle and bumper, with the daughter of Yeats having also finished second in a Grade 3 bumper. Bred by RW Russell, she is owned by Mrs Bernardine Mulryan and Mrs Paul Shanahan.
