Walk In The Park Filly Gets Off The Mark At Auteuil

The Yannick Fouin-trained Guerre Des Gaules (4f Walk In The Park - Berge De Cercy, by Tirwanako) stayed on well to win the Prix La Fregate at Auteuil on Sunday.

The bay was having her second start in the hurdle contest over two miles and two furlongs and soon settled behind the leader under Jeremy Da Silva. Narrowing the leader’s advantage as they approached the turn for home, the bay was ridden from the second last and stayed on well to lead close home, beating Garbure by a length and a quarter on the line.

Owned by Fouin with breeder Haras de Peyre, Guerre Des Gaules hails from the final French crop of Walk In The Park, who moved to Grange Stud for the 2016 season.
